Throughout the month, Lung Cancer Initiative (LCI) will provide a variety of events and educational opportunities to raise awareness about lung cancer in our community and help combat the stigma of this disease. There are many ways to get involved and show your support this November.
Explore the 2025 LCAM Calendar for suggestions on how you, your friends, family, and colleagues can take action to raise awareness all month long.
Awareness. Action. Advocacy.
Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in the US and worldwide, but there is hope! RESEARCH is providing patients with more treatment options and longer survival than ever before. EDUCATION is helping people understand that anyone with lungs can get lung cancer and about the importance of screening–lung cancer caught in earlier stages has a much higher survival rate!
No matter who you are or how you have been impacted by lung cancer, we need you and your voice in educating, advocating and providing support.
Lung Cancer Awareness Month National Proclamation
As we enter November 2025, we continue our commitment to raising awareness and supporting those impacted by lung cancer. In previous years, both the President of the United States and North Carolina Governor Josh Stein have officially proclaimed November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month. This year, we are also proud to share that South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has issued a state proclamation, recognizing the importance of early detection, research, and community support.
There are so many ways for you to get involved, so check out our LCAM resources web page and calendar to see how you can raise awareness and provide support all month long.
